Story Behind the Music
I played the Sega Master System hours on end as a child. I still play the Sega Master System hours on end. What has drawn me to a console from the 1980's? Zillion, a game for the system, is one of the many reasons. This game is a journey from to the very end. Each room was different than the next. Each location could be easily expanded within the confines of a child's imagination. The music, atmosphere, control, graphics, enemies, story and all aspects were developed perfectly. The purpose of this game, to mimick the story of an anime series in the action format, was done perfectly. All of these reasons lead me to play this game.
This song starts slowly with an arrangement of the theme that plays during most of the game. This music plays while underground in the base of Nosa. Suprise! Quickly after this theme is the entrance of the main song. This main part of the song is an arrangement of the music found while fighting the boss of the game. This boss is a large mechanized T-Rex designed to be the gaurdian of the underground base. This battle scared me silly the first time I encountered it. This fact is why the main theme suprises the listener in my arrangement. This main theme is done so a little bit faster than the original and new melodies, counter-melodies and an entire new section to the song was added. These additions were to bring my own interpretation of the encounter into the mix.
This interpretation has drawn me to listen to it numerous times. I cannot get enough of it because I feed off of the energy that this song puts out. My appreciation, too, is fed by listening to this song. It makes me want to play the game each and every time.
